Lugano Aims To Become Bitcoin Capital of Europe

Lugano is a city in southern Switzerland’s Italian-speaking Ticino region. The city along with the stablecoin issuer Tether has formed a partnership to make bitcoin, Tether and its own LVGA token points as legal tender in the city.

Following the steps of El Salvador, Lugano will allow all its businesses to seamlessly use crypto for all their everyday transactions.
Tether collaborating the administration of Lugano have established a Centre of Excellence for Blockchain Adoption to make the city a major European blockchain hub.
Lugano's mayor Michelle Foletti stated :
Lugano is investing in its future. In recent years, we have already implemented blockchain-based solutions including the MyLugano app and its LVGA Points payment token, the Lugano digital franc and the 3Achain blockchain infrastructure.
